Mongolia is the most sparsely populated country in the world, and its remoteness is one of the main attractions for me. There is incredible natural beauty and contrast – from vast grasslands and barren deserts to impressive snow capped mountains. But it is the friendly nomadic Mongolian and Kazakh people in the western Altai region of the country that captivate me the most.
