Although Tajikistan is known as the poorest country in Central Asia, it is rich in both beautiful scenery and friendly people. A journey on the famed Pamir Highway is a thrilling 1000 mile experience, with stunning views as it hugs the border with Afghanistan and heads through high mountain passes . However it was the hospitality of the people in the Wakhan Valley that left the longest lasting impression on me.
