Taiwan, officially known as the Republic of China, is a place of spectacular natural beauty contrasted with modern cosmopolitan cities. The curvy roads and rocky eastern coast are a paradise for roadtrippers. My favorite places where the rocky beaches of Kenting National Park, the perilous cliffs and coastal roads of Taitung and Hualien counties, and the surprisingly modern Taipei.
